Restorative Yoga
Yoga Nidra
Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing and slow practice that invites the body, mind, and spirit to release tension and stress. This is an important practice to balance out the fast-paced life of modern society and the chronic over-use of technology, because it is through stillness and turning inward that we cultivate the keys to healing. In this training, learn how and why this practice is so powerful, and learn how to incorporate it into an existing yoga practice or how to start a new practice. This traditional restorative training is informed through the lineages of B.K.S. Iyengar and Judith Hanson Lasater, and teaches how to use props (blocks, bolsters, straps, blankets and sandbags), how to set up postures, and the therapeutic applications of the poses.
All levels of practitioner are welcome to attend this training, and it is open to yoga teachers and non-teachers alike. All students receive a certificate of completion, and students registered with the Yoga Alliance also receive 25 CEUs.
–
Yoga Nidra is the “sleep of the yogis” or “yogic sleep”, and is an ancient relaxation technique and guided meditation that allows the student to exist in a state of consciousness that is in-between sleep and being fully awake. Yoga nidra is a verbally guided experience that includes body scans, and often, identifying a sankalpa to focus your thoughts and energy on. It aims to reduce stress, fatigue, anxiety, and tension as it deeply nourishes the body, mind, and spirit. It is said that one hour of yoga nidra is equal to four hours of deep, nourishing sleep. No movement is required.
Why restorative yoga + yoga nidra?
In a culture of 'doing', this is the yoga of 'being'.
Restorative yoga and yoga nidra offer more than just physical rest—they invite emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and profound self-discovery. As a teacher, you become a guide to sanctuary: creating spaces where others can pause, soften, and connect with their inner landscape.
