Completion of the Atman Yoga School 340 hour advanced power vinyasa teacher training, combined with a previous 200 hour training, will allow a teacher to register with the Yoga Alliance at the RYT 500 level.

The Atman Yoga School 340 hour advanced power vinyasa training is centered around three pillars of study and experiential learning, and deepens a students’ knowledge of the ancient practices of yoga, ayurveda, and yoga philosophy while simultaneously preparing a teacher for a successful teaching career. The three pillars of the 340 hour training are: Yoga Philosophy/Traditional Studies, Teaching Techniques, and Meditation Practices. All students are required to submit a thesis paper on a subject related to yoga to qualify for graduation.

We offer our Advanced Training in 3 Modules, with each module organized as a ten day intensive immersion held at the Nøsen Yoga & Fjellhotel in Hemsedal, Norway. Students are welcome to take an individual module as a stand-alone retreat to deepen their knowledge and teaching skills, but students must complete all three modules to earn a 340 Hour Advanced Certificate from the Atman Yoga School.



Hatha Yoga Pradipika studies, Upanishads studies, Yoga Sutra studies, Bhagavad Gita Studies, ayurvedic lifestyle, ayurvedic nutrition, ayurvedic sexuality + fertility, Samkhya philosophy,  chanting, kirtan, daily asana practice, master workshops (arm balances, restorative yoga, inversions, backbends),  pranayama, energetic anatomy (koshas, nadis and vayus), personal studies, in-depth Chakra studies, dieties and mythology, ceremonies and pujas,  and a graduation thesis.


Anatomy, posture clinics, verbal and non-verbal communication, cue refinement, assisting techniques and hands-on practicum, advanced sequencing workshops, practice teaching, group feedback sessions (themes, music, sequencing), class planning, advanced themeing, video feedback on taught classes (each student teaches a class that is video recorded and analyzed, to provide valuable feedback), opening and closing classes, and how to create community with students.


Learn + practice how to cultivate stillness and turn inward for deep healing. Explore different methods and types of meditation, as both a student and a teacher. Mantra/japa meditation (mala making workshop to create a personalized mala), Yoga Nidra, visualizations, guided imagery, nada yoga (sound meditation), metta (loving kindness) meditation, walking meditation, candle meditation, seated meditation, vipassana meditation, mandala coloring meditation, affirmations, and doshic meditation.


The three modules of the  2018/2019 Advanced Yoga Teacher Training will be held at the Nøsen Yoga + Fjellhotel in Hemsedal, Norway. This beautiful retreat center provides a warm space for students to dive deep into the material and experience of an advanced training. Three meals a day (vegan/vegatarian) are provided, along with tea and coffee, double accommodation, and the option for outside excursions. The yoga shala is comfortable and fully stocked with all props and necessary training items.

Feel free to walk around the surrounding mountains on breaks from training, and breathe fresh air while journaling, meditating, or just soaking up the view. You will feel completely supported during your yoga teacher training journey with the Atman Yoga School at Nøsen Yoga + Fjell Hotel- body, mind, and spirit.

Feel nourished by the healthy and fresh food created daily by the Nøsen in-house chefs, whose food philosophy incorporates Ayurvedic principles, seasonal produce, and plant-based goodness. Each dish is vibrant in both colour and taste!      *Allergies and food preferences can be accommodated.    

Double accommodations are arranged as a typical Norwegian fjellhotel (mountain lodge), with bunkbeds. Each room has a view of the surrounding mountain valleys and a private ensuite bathroom. You are welcome to room with a friend/partner if attending the training together, or you will be assigned a roomate from the training.

Nøsen is located in Vestre Slidre, about a 40-minute-drive to Fagernes and a 50-minute-drive to Gol.


Nøsen is best reached from Oslo airport. If flying in from abroad, choose to land at one of Oslo’s airports, such as Gardemoen or Torp. Please note that Torp is over one hour away from Oslo, thereby considering factoring in the extra time when planning your trip. 


From either Gol or Fagernes, you will have to get onto Panoramavegen, which is a low-traffic, private road. Please be advised that access to Panoramavegen is allowed, with a fee of 50 NOK. 


The Oslo-Bergen line departs from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) several times daily and stops at Gol. From there, Nøsen can come and pick you up for a fee of 200 NOK / pp. Please check first about the pick-up time and transport availability.

Nor-way.no runs daily buses from Oslo Central Busstation to Fagernes. Take Valdres Expressen, and get off a Fagernes Skystasjon. Buy tickets online to avail of a significant discount.

From Fagernes Skystasjon, Nøsen can come and pick you up for a fee of 100 NOK / pp.
